The New Cinema Stereo Music Systems

The DA12 and the DA16 are two models that replace the world famous DA226 modular Music Distribution system that has been in our product line for almost 15 years. The DA226 was sold with 8 stereo channel (auditoriums) and was expandable to 26 channels by adding expansion cards to fit the size multiplex . A 12 or 14 plex (or more) installation could become expensive due to the cost of the individual expansion cards.

The new DA12 features 12 channels of stereo for installations up to 12 screens. Each stereo output has balancing transformers at each output to reduce noise and interference pickup in a hostile electrical environment like a projection booth. Easily expandable for more channels.

The DA16 model contains 16 balanced output stereo channels for up to 16 screens.

On the back of each model you will find TWO sets of RCA pin jacks.

One set of jacks is for the Left and Right audio inputs from your CD player, Satellite receiver, or other stereo source. The second set of jacks are bridge connected to the first set. This allows you to use a common audio cable to connect two DA12 units or DA16 units together without additional wiring. You can supply music signals to 24 screens by pairing two DA12 units, up to a 28-plex by pairing a DA16 and DA12 units, up to hundreds of stereo outputs with multiple DA units.

• Two input level controls allow Left-Right balance for all channels in a unit. These controls do not affect the signals sent to other units in multiple product systems. The final level balance is made in each booth at the stereo processor.

• Popular UL listed power packs for the popular plugs and voltages used around the world. Please specify which power pack you need when ordering.
• A circuit "lift" ground jumper for minimum hum in wired systems.
• Slimline 1 3/4 inch rack mount to save space in booth equipment racks.
• Steel chassis for low noise pickup from other equipment and nearby AC lines.
• Any unused stereo outputs may used to feed an external power amplifier for lobby, restroom, outside speakers.

Not all countries use one of the three types of AC plugs shown above. Often there are inexpensive plug adapters available locally that will convert one of the three power pack plugs to the type used in your country.

The new DA amplifiers are much more economical than the older series. One DA12 for a 12-plex installation is almost half the price of the DA226 with the extra expansion cards, and takes up one third the rack space.

Music Distribution Systems that use a transmitter and receivers in each booth can cost up to $1,800 for a 16-plex. You may save a little on the cost of wire but will spend far more when the equipment Installation is added to your cost.
