When you attend a college course on Marketing you are likely to hear the story of a merchant that cut a giant "hoop" cheese in half. In his store window he put a sign on one half of the cheese with the price of 50 cents a pound. On the other half the price was 55 cents. More people bought the higher priced cheese because the price was only 10% more, but it must be better! Right? We have the same opinion about buying the LT-2XRC machine that can also play 8", 9" and 11" records. Just because it is the most expensive model, with no additional features, is it worth up to $4000 (U.S. pricing) more? Those odd-sized records have not been produced since the 1920's. How many of these records do you have in your collection? The fact is that all the Laser Turntable models are capable of all the features in the most expensive model. The lower priced machines are mechanically identical but have their firmware "crippled" so they cannot perform certain functions. We suggest you buy only the product that meets your needs by examining the features of each product and not waste money on features you will not likely ever need.. |
